Phase One
Once the Application No and Password have
been successfully authenticated in the Sign In
page, the system will automatically load the
Candidate’s Information. After the
completion of this loading process, the
Candidate is presented with instructions and
guidelines for the successful completion of
the remaining Online Registration Process.
The Candidate is expected to read and abide
by these stipulated instructions and
guidelines for the programme.
The Phase One of the Online Registration
process is meant to guide the Candidate on
his/her decision on a proposed programme
and course of study. In light of this, the
Candidate is advised to take time and read
through the complete list of courses/subjects
required for the desired programme. After
reading the instructions, the Candidate clicks

The Candidate’s Mother Maiden’s Name will
be used as a security question in a situation
where the Candidate wishes to recover
his/her password. Furthermore, the
Candidate is advised to correctly type his/her
Local Government Area and Home Town as
errors and mistakes will not be tolerated. The
Contact Address should be the address in
which the Candidate currently resides in or an
address in which the Candidate hopes or plans
to reside in while undertaking the programme
at Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Likewise, the
Permanent Address should be the address
where the Candidate’s Parent/Guardian/Next
of Kin currently resides in.
The Candidate’s Profile Photo must not be
larger than 100KB. Good Photo Editors such
as Adobe Photoshop, MS Paint, Corel Draw,
etc. can be used to reduce the size of the
photo if it is larger than 100KB. The Candidate
can also visit http://www.picresize.com and
use its service to resize his/her large-sized
picture. After successfully uploading Passport
Photo, the Candidate clicks the ‘Save
Information’ button and will be automatically
taken to a page where the Candidate will be
required to enter an access PIN.
At this juncture, the Candidate clicks on the
‘How do I get a PIN?’ link, which takes the
Candidate to the Get PIN page, where
instructions on making payment via Remita
can be seen. This payment process is briefly
outlined:
1. Candidate generates Retrieval
Reference Number (RRN) on
Remita.
2. Candidate activates RRN on the
ePortal (This is mandatory).
3. Candidate makes payment in the
bank and within 48 hours (2 working
days), payment will be confirmed
and an automated 16-digit PIN sent
to the Candidate’s mobile phone via
SMS.
Please find detailed explanations and
instructions on the above steps in the GET PIN
page (as shown on Snapshot 5).
Please be aware that Candidates’ activities on
this AE-FUNAI CES e-Portal are tracked and
recorded for security reasons. The FUNAI ICT
Management shall not tolerate abuse of the
PIN Verification Module System. In view of
this, certain security measures have been put
in place such as:
1. Candidate’s Account temporarily
locked for 10 minutes if he/she
enters a wrong access PIN 3 (three)
times.
2. Candidate’s Account permanently
disabled if he/she enters a wrong
access PIN 5 (five) times.
In essence, the Candidate is advised to enter a
PIN only when he/she receives an SMS alert
from AE-FUNAI CES containing a 16-digit
access PIN. In a situation where the Candidate
has not received an access PIN from AE-
FUNAI CES after 48 hours, the Candidate is
advised to click on the ‘I haven’t received a
PIN’ link and lodge a complaint by uploading
a scanned copy of Payment Document.
When Candidate successfully enters a valid
16-digit access PIN, the system validates the
PIN and automatically takes the Candidate to
Phase Three, where the Candidate will be
required to enter details of Academic
Qualifications as well as uploading
Certificates.
